On a guided tour in the lime quarry of Limhamn I took this picture of the beautiful walls of the quarry.It is not allowed to go close to the walls or stand on the ridges as they are likely to collapse easily . The quarry has been closed for production since the middle of the 1990s but the lime is of a very high quality. The concrete bearing the Jesus statue in Brazil is said to be made of concrete from Limhamn. The “lim” in Limhamn is the same as the english Word “lime” and means chalk. “Hamn” means “harbour” so Limhamn is Limeharbour. Weekly Photo Challenge: Curves.
