Haemanthus albiflos in flower

DSC_4834In a room I seldom look properly as all the plants in it are clivias that don´t need close attention during the winter I suddenly saw that a paintbrush flower – Haemanthus albiflos. I think this plant is closely related to the clivia and it doesn´t look very exciting when it doesn’t flower. It is named elephant’s tongue in swedish and the leaves are rather thick and look like a tongue. This plant spent the summer on the terrace and it evidently benefited from this as it is now flowering. Anyhow it is beautiful and give me joy. More flowers on Today´s flowers and more macro on I heart macro.
