Trompe l’œil – Subtly transmogrified town hall
A very subtle transmogrification of Malmö town hall built in the sixteenth century. It has been rebuilt through the centuries and the facade is being touched up. I didn´t notice that the builders had covered the building with covers with a print of the facade until a colleague commented upon it. This picture was taken yesterday when I passed by the town hall and in the evening The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge published it´s weekly challenge on the theme: Transmogrify.
I like this new way of hiding the reparation works. We have a plenty of covered facades in Ukraine which are rebuilding and showing the way they will look after reparation.

Thank you! I didn´t know that, but it looks much better than ordinary covers. I wish you a wonderful weekend!

How thoughtful to keep the building looking like a building and then the surprise will come or perhaps it has already transmogrified.

Thank you! We will see when the covers fall. It is supposed to be restored to the look it has had for the last century. But it is said the building doesn´t look like in the sixteenth century. The look of the facade as it is today is from the middle of the 19th century. There are pictures from the 19th century that shows a much simpler facade than the present one so this building has been transmogrified several time before. I doubt an medieval citizen of Malmö would have recognized the building if he had visited today. I wish you a wonderful weekend!
